Cygnet Health Care is to open three new services throughout June.
The Acorn Ward, a ten-bed female psychiatric intensive care unit at Cygnet Hospital Woking, will open on 12th June while a specialist service for women with personality disorders will open at the end of the month at Cygnet Hospital Colchester.
Named the Flower Adams Ward, the specialist service will have nine beds for assessment and stabilisation and 11 beds for engagement and recovery.
Thirdly, a rehabilitation service for men with learning disabilities – the Starling Ward at Cygnet Hospital Taunton – will open on 25 June.
In line with the NHS transforming care programme, the nine-bed service will support the provision of inpatient care closer to home for individuals from or near the South-West.
