Vitality collaborates with Aon on workplace wellbeing

Health insurer Vitality has announced a collaboration with multinational professional services firm Aon to help employers better understand how wellbeing solutions can improve business performance.

Under the deal, Aon will work with Vitality through Britain’s Healthiest Workplace survey, which relaunches in Spring 2022. It will use the survey and its results to help employers recognise specific health issues in their businesses and implement wellbeing solutions.

Launched by Vitality in 2012, Britain’s Healthiest Workplace is the UK’s largest workplace wellbeing survey and has shown a clear link between productivity and health and wellbeing. According to the the 2019 survey, the UK economy lost almost £92bn that year alone as a result of health-related absence and presenteeism in the workplace.

Vitality managing director: sales and distribution Greg Levine said changes to work practices brought about by the coronavirus pandemic have the potential to dramatically impact physical and mental health.

‘It’s never been a more important time for organisations to get this right,’ he said. ‘We’re delighted to work with Aon, which has a proven track record in this space, to support organisations to improve the health and wellbeing of their employees.’

David Battle, CEO – UK regions, Aon, added: ‘Our new collaboration with Vitality helps employers gain invaluable insights from data, pinpointing the real health and wellbeing issues in their workforce. This creates clarity and confidence to make better decisions, building a proactive, preventative approach, as well as a business case showing clear evidence of the need for action.’
