Servicios Médicos Cubanos S.A. and the Canadian real estate developer COGIR, have partnered to offer health tourism for senior Canadian tourists.COGIR is a leading investor and developer of residences for the elderly in Canada. It manages 40 retirement housing complexes for 10,000 seniors.
The programme targets Canadians aged 75-85, in good physical and mental condition, who will visit Cuba for a stay of two to three months over the Canadian winter. The first group of Canadians went this year, to the Marina Varadero hotel at the Varadero coastal resort.
The health tourism services will seek to promote healthy lifestyles, and if necessary will include nursing care.
Servicios Médicos Cubanos manages and operates specialised hospitals and clinics in Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America.
