Global medical travel platform rebrands

Hospals has changed its name and branding to healthtrip.com, with ambitions to establish itself as a global medical travel platform. It claims to serve over 6,000 patients per year, connecting medical travellers with surgeons in Asia, based on their medical needs, location and budget.

Hospals was co-founded by Danish, Obaid and Suneel Kapur in 2020 with a vision to help people in their medical treatment journey in hospitals.

They found that people are not only travelling for medical treatment, but also for ayurvedic, cosmetic, dental and wellness treatments. So, it was a natural progression to move from helping users find hospitals, to enabling a more holistic health discovery.

The start-up had recently raised Pre-Series A investment from Inflection Point Ventures, 9unicorns, Wavemaker and prominent angels including Kunal Shah and Deepinder Goyal.

The company expects medical tourism in India to benefit from low airfares.
