Marrakesh Healthcare City to open in Morocco in December

Tasweek is opening its Marrakesh Healthcare City residential and healthcare complex in December 2015. The new facility is the first of its kind in Morocco and includes a private hospital, hotel, and private apartments.

Abu Dhabi based investment group Tasweek Real Estate Development and Marketing is opening its Marrakesh Healthcare City (MHC) residential and healthcare complex in December 2015. Marrakesh is Morocco’s third largest city.

The USD 60 million mixed-use development is a few minutes away from the national airport, and has attracted healthcare operators from around the world. It has a 160-bed private hospital. It seeks to be a luxury health and medical tourism resort. Details of companies and facilities in the city are being withheld until the launch.

Masood Al Awar of Tasweek says: “Healthcare and tourism are important to the growth and progress of any service sector economy. After Marrakesh Healthcare City we are looking at other health tourism projects in Morocco.”

The company has already announced plans for a new USD 55 million mixed-use project, including health, residential, retails and tourism in the city of Agadir, Morocco. Tasweek has its sights set on Tangier and Casablanca.
