Shanghai extends brand campaign to healthcare

Shanghai launched a campaign last year to promote the Shanghai brands in manufacturing, shipping, culture and service industries. This venture has now been extended by 50 new measures to promote the development of the healthcare industry, including international medical tourism.

The demand for international medical services in China has been growing with increasing foreign investment and tourism.

Shanghai launched a campaign last year to promote the Shanghai brands in manufacturing, shipping, culture and service industries. This venture has been extended by 50 new measures to promote the development of the health care industry.

Among the targets, is to make Shanghai a competitive destination for international medical tourism across medical care, disease treatment, rehabilitation and recuperation, plus traditional Chinese medicine.

Shanghai has 80 medical institutions offering high-end medical services, including 21 with foreign investment or cooperation, and two international medical zones.

The campaign is in its early stages.
