ADASS concerned over CQC plan

The Association of Directors of Social Services (ADAS S) has expressed concerns over the frequency of inspections proposed by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in its A New Start consultation document (CCMn July 2013). CQC plans to inspect services according to their ratings with outstanding facilities inspected once every three to five years and those deemed to be good every two to three years. In its response to the proposals, ADASS said that if these principles were implemented on the adult social care sector anything above an annual statement is too long, particularly in the residential care sector where managers and even owners can change frequently with likely significant on care quality and safety.’
