Aviva restructures its European operations

Aviva proposes combining Aviva Ireland with Aviva UK to form a new UK and Ireland Region. The group wants to restructure European regional operations to strengthen the business and create a leaner cost base. The move could result in 950 job losses in Ireland over two years comprising 180 roles from Aviva Europe and 770 from Aviva Ireland. However 200 jobs could be saved by establishing additional centres of excellence in Ireland to service customers in the UK.
