Delegated powers plan to go ahead

Despite opposition from social workers (CCMn June 2014), the government has decided to press ahead with plans to delegate functions to mutual organisations, community interest companies and not-for-profit businesses to deliver children’s social care. Private companies have been excluded following concerns raised during the consultation process about the potential of providing child protection services motivated by profit.
