Bupa extends partnership with mental health platform

Bupa has extended its partnership with mental health platform Just Ask A Question (JAAQ).

The JAAQ mental health platform provides free content on a wide range of mental health issues, including interactive responses to more than 50,000 questions from mental health experts and people with lived experience. It also offers a workplace wellbeing platform where employees get support and employers receive anonymised real time data on usage by their workforce.

Bupa will be the exclusive health insurance partner of JAAQ for 2024, and its clinicians will provide information on a range of new topics through the platform, including Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, dental anxiety and loneliness.

JAAQ and Bupa content will also be integrated into the Bupa Touch app for the first time, allowing customers to access information alongside other Bupa health and wellbeing services.

JAAQ at Work will also be offered to Bupa’s business customers, providing them with the opportunity to create bespoke video content based on specific employee needs, advice on accessing their health benefits and face-to-face engagement sessions.

Bupa UK Insurance CEO Alex Perry said: ‘These days so many people turn to social media for health advice, but it’s often hard to know what’s credible and can be trusted. Our clinical expertise alongside JAAQ’s engaging video technology means our customers can access this expert information in a clear, jargon-free way on a range of mental health topics which many may feel reluctant to speak about. This partnership is a key part of our preventive health focus to help our customers lead healthier, happier lives.’
