Sources close to the government have hinted that the Dilnot Commissions recommendations on the future of social care funding might be included in the Chancellors Autumn Statement. It was reported last month in the national press that Prime Minister David Cameron had overruled Health Secreatary Andrew Lansley and agreed to push ahead with proposals to implement the £35,000 cap on care fees suggested by the Dilnot Commission (CCMn July 2011).
