Hopes of lift on moratorium as NHS England considers CAMHS tender

NHS England could be preparing to end the moratorium on commissioning new specialist mental health services after confirming it is considering putting inpatient child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS) out to tender. As part of its ongoing review of Tier 4 CAMHS, the national commissioning body said it was considering measures to reduce out-of-area placements including any necessary tendering for services’. It is planning to hold a provider engagement event at the end of this month.
