LD funding problems highlighted

Three out of four local authorities are facing difficulties in funding services for people with learning disabilities and are either making cuts to services or efficiency savings, a survey conducted by the Learning Disability Coalition has found. Of the 46% of local authorities who responded, 13% reported that they had tightened their eligibility criteria and a further 7% were considering doing so in the next financial year. On top of this, nearly half of local authorities had increased their service charges and 13% said that they had to cut services over the last year.
