Optalis has ‘satisfactory’ year

Optalis, the care business wholly-owned by Wokingham borough council, reported a 4.3% rise in revenues for the year ended 31 March 2015 from £10.6m to £11m. Taking into account cost of sales of £8.8m (2014: £8.4m) and administrative expenses of £2.1m (2014: £2.2m), the operator achieved an operating profit of £155,000 (2014: £5,000). After no interest charges or income was reported, Optalis posted the same figures for its pre-tax profit.
