PAC raises concerns over Care Act

The House of Commons Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has concluded that government has not been sufficiently open and transparent’ on the burdens imposed on councils under the Care Act. In particular, it is concerned the government’s commitment to assess and fund extra costs for local authorities as a result of the introduction of the new powers, duties and other government-initiated changes, does not guarantee funding for significant new costs.
