Review seeks to tackle employee sickness absence

An attempt to reduce the human and financial cost of needless sickness absence in the UK’ was launched. In an independent review presented to the Department of Work and Pensions David Frost, former Director General, British Chamber of Commerce and Dame Carol Black, national director for Health and Work outlined the situation as regards people out of work due to ill health and claiming benefits and recommendations to tackle the problem and reduce the cost of sickness to employers, taxpayers and the economy.
