Employers urged to support workers code

Health and social care employers have been urged to support the new set of trainingstandards and code of conduct which is set to be developed for healthcare assistants. Dean Royles, director of NHS Employers, said it was critical that employers take a leading role in developing the standards to ensure they meet the needs of service and patients.

Dignity Commission retires to consider evidence

The Partnership on Dignity in Care Commission has finished receiving evidence from stakeholders and has revealed it will publish its interim report in January 2012 before releasing its full report in the Spring. The commission is a joint effort between the NHS Confederation, the Local Government Association and Age UK and is aiming to improve dignity in care for older people in hospital and care homes.

The Practice chief executive stands down

Peter Watts, chief executive at market leading primary care provider The Practice has stepped down from the role in order to explore other opportunities’. The organisation said in a statement that a new chief executive would be announced in due course.
