Turnover down and surplus’ up at Housing & Care 21

Turnover dropped at Housing & Care 21 from £222m to £218.7m for the year ended 31 March 2014. After costs of £200.6m (2013: £211.2m) were deducted, however, the operator recorded an operating surplus of £18.2m, a significant increase on the previous year’s £10.8m. Taking into account interest income of £6.9m (2013: £6.7m) and charges of £20m (2013: £21.3m), a pre-tax surplus of £8.2m was achieved (2013: £4.2m). EBITDAR stood at £49.1m, an increase on the previous year’s £45.5m.
