Winner and losers under new national tariff

Acute independent sector providers have greeted Monitor’s publication of the new National NHS tariff with relief after the regulator toned down some of the price variations put forward over the summer. However, independent providers working in the mental sector have expressed disappointment that proposals for the new tariff do little to address disinvestment in the sector.
