MedicX acquires new primary care centre

MedicX Fund, the specialist primary care infrastructure investor in modern, purpose-built, primary healthcare properties in the United Kingdom has contracted to acquire a new primary care medical centre in Kingston upon Thames, South West London due to be completed in November 2012.

New chief executive to start at CQC

David Behan has been appointed new chief executive of the Care Quality Commission (CQC). Mr Behan is currently director general for social care, local government and care partnerships at the Department of Health (DH). He will begin his role as chief executive in July and will replace Cynthia Bower who resigned in February this year.

Weight loss surgery clinic opens in London

The UK’s first dedicated bariatric clinic , the Sudbury Clinic, has opened in the grounds of BMI The Clementine Churchill Hospital in Harrow. The clinic has been designed and opened by Streamline Surgical, the weight loss surgery group. It has been created around the needs and requirements of bariatric patients and aims to set a new standard for the treatment of obesity in the UK.
