Care provider Agincare has strengthened its Training Now board with the appointment of Andy Tilden as a non-executive director.
Tilden, who left his role as operations director at Skills for Care earlier this year, will attend Agincare board meetings and offer support and advice to the Training Now team, which delivers courses to its 3,500-strong workforce nationwide as well as people from other organisations across the country.
Training Now specialises in delivering practical social care, education and business apprenticeships. It also delivers short courses, professional qualifications and offers careers advice, support and coaching.
‘I’m very aware of Agincare’s work in the community and the drive of Training Now to provide great opportunities to help the workforce make a real difference to improve the lives of the people they support,’ Tilden said.
‘My most recent roles have concentrated on national strategy and operations, so the opportunity to get involved with work more associated with developing the workforce and ultimately helping those who receive care is something that very much appeals to me.’
His other previous roles have included starting up a learning and training company, working with the NHS, and course manager, lecturer and tutor for care at Weston College.
Agincare chief executive Raina Summerson said: ‘I’ve known Andy and respected his values and commitment to social care for some time and look forward to working with him.
‘The portfolio of skills, expertise and knowledge that Andy brings will be a great asset to our Training Now organisation as it continues to grow from strength to strength in the future.’
Agincare is family-owned and has been providing care for over 35 years, including live-in care, homecare, residential care and nursing homes nationwide.
