Edel Harris has joined the board at the National Care Group (NCG) as a non-executive director.
She will join co-founders and co-chairs Jamil Mawji and Faisal Lalani, Professor Martin Green, chief executive James Allen, and the NCG executive team.
Harris, who stepped down as CEO of the Royal Mencap Society in August, has executive and non-executive management experience including as chair at the Life Changes Trust and as former CEO of Cornerstone Community Care.
‘I am honoured to be joining the board and look forward to supporting the Executive Team and their colleagues in their ambitious program for growth and at a time when they are delivering on plans to innovate and digitise their processes,’ she said.
NCG supports more than 1,300 adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health diagnoses, brain injuries, and complex needs across England and Wales, employing more than 2,700 colleagues.
Mawji added: ‘I am delighted to welcome Edel to the NCG board. Alongside other members, she brings a valued perspective and breadth of experience to help guide and shape the future of the organisation. It will be a privilege to have her input and I look forward to working with her.’
