Building work starts on Barchester Healthcare’s Healthland Lodge

Barchester Healthcare has started construction work on a 54-bed care home development in Crowthorne, Berkshire.

The home, which will be called Healthland Lodge, is being built by Kori Construction, and is owned and will be operated by Barchester. It will provide residential, dementia and respite care for older people in Wokingham and the surrounding areas once complete in early 2028.

The property will have en suite bedrooms with smart TVs, lounges, an activities room, a cinema, and in-house hair and beauty salon. Once open, the home will provide a life enrichment programme that includes daily activities.

‘We are really excited to get this project under way. Our Crowthorne home will be a fantastic addition to the local community,’ said Grant Jensen, senior property development manager at Barchester.

The care home will have an onsite marketing suite that will open in autumn 2027.
