Circle confirms Steve Melton as CEO

Circle Holdings has appointed Steve Melton as the permanent chief executive officer. Mr Melton assumed the role of interim chief executive in December 2012, having served as Circle's head of mobilisation and head of operations respectively since joining Circle in February 2008. Mr Melton led the opening of the Bath and Reading hospitals in March 2010 and August 2012, the initiation and re-bid on the Nottingham Treatment Centre contract and final phases of bidding, negotiation, and mobilisation of the Hinchingbrooke contract.

Ashley House plc appoints exec director

Ashley House plc has appointed Richard Darch as executive director. Mr Darch is a health economist by training and has run health and social care consultancy and infrastructure businesses as a principal and for major organisations. His appointment will help deliver Ashley House’s strategy of growth in both NHS and social care markets.

Glen Care appoints psychiatrist

Glen Care, the specialist care provider, has appointed experienced Dr Maciej Danilewicz as consultant psychiatrist at the London Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre (LTRC) in Croydon, South London. Dr. Danilewicz graduated in Medicine from Jagiellonian University in Krakow and became medical director and subsequently regional director of the Polish Medical Air Rescue. In 2007, he relocated to the UK and worked at the Priory Ticehurst House in general adult and addiction psychiatric wards. Dr. Danilewicz gained invaluable experience in psychiatry, working in the specialist post-traumatic stress disorder service and child and adolescent inpatient service. In 2008, he transferred to a forensic hospital in the North of England, where he worked in the low secure general psychiatric rehabilitation ward, medium secure admission and assessment ward, and medium secure rehabilitation ward for patients with learning difficulties.

Reshuffle at Aviva

Changes have been made to the Aviva team. David McMillan has been appointed chief executive of Aviva Europe. Nick Amin joins as group transformation director while Jason Windsor joins the group executive as chief strategy and development officer. As a result of these changes Trevor Matthews will not stand for re-election at the 2013 Annual General Meeting and will step down from the Board on the day prior to this year's AGM.

Fellowships for St Andrew’s clinicians

Three neuropsychiatrists from mental health charity, St Andrew’s Healthcare, have been awarded Fellowships of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.

Benenden Health appoints chief exec

Benenden Health has appointed Marc Bell, to the role of chief executive. Mr Bell was previously marketing and business strategy director. He replaces Ken Hesketh who stepped down having overseen significant developments to the organisation in his four year tenure as chief executive.

Two new managers at Holly House

Holly House Hospital in Buckhurst Hill, on the borders of Essex and London, has appointed Andy Willcocks as director of nursing and clinical services, and Luis Pedro as the new general services manager, to complement the existing management team.

New clinical services head at Spire

Spire Hospital Liverpool has appointed Louise Ferguson as its new Matron and head of clinical services. Ms Ferguson spent the early years of her career working in theatre at the Royal Liverpool Hospital. She began working privately for Bupa in 2004 and progressed to join Spire Liverpool Hospital in her new senior role.

William Russell has new finance head

William Russell, the global health and income protection insurance specialists, has appointed of Richard Goodley as head of finance.

Wilson joins Aviva as chief executive

Aviva plc announced last month that Mark Wilson will join its Board on 1 December 2012 and become chief executive from 1 January 2013.
