China: Panacea Venture closes healthcare fund at US$180.5m

Atlantic-Pacific Capital, one of the largest privately owned global placement agent and advisory firms, has closed Panacea Venture Healthcare Fund I with US$180.5m of capital commitments. The fund was significantly oversubscribed on its target of US$150m.

The fund is looking for significant capital appreciation through the acquisition of privately secured and negotiated early-stage equity investments in healthcare related companies.

The fundraise was completed within 12 months. Atlantic-Pacific Capital served as global placement agent.

“The commitments we received mean a lot to us and are a clear endorsement of our investment capability towards China’s healthcare space,” said managing partner James Huang.

Founded in 1995, Atlantic-Pacific Capital has executed more than 100 capital raising assignments aggregating over US$70bn billion for alternative asset managers.
