Aspen Healthcare appoints new CEO

Rob Anderson, new CEO at Aspen Healthcare

Aspen Healthcare has announced the appointment of Rob Anderson as its new CEO, effective from 1 July 2019.

Anderson’s career in the independent healthcare sector spans 22 years in roles such as operations director at Spire Healthcare and an independent consultant for clients such as Care UK’s hospital division and the Lister Hospital in Ghana.

He was also trained by PWC as a consultant partner in the delivery of its OpEx programmes. He is an active international hospital surveyor for the HQS hospital accreditation programme, having worked on assignments in South Africa, Denmark, Cyprus, Turkey, Italy, Portugal and the UK.

Michael Brenden Davis, chief operating officer at NMC Healthcare said: ‘We are delighted to welcome Rob Anderson to NMC Healthcare – Aspen. Rob is a highly experienced leader who has played a key role in transforming numerous private hospitals across the UK (and globally) in size, scale, complexity, volume growth and profitability whilst focusing on quality and achieving outstanding feedback from the Care Quality Commission.

‘During the rigorous recruitment selection process Rob demonstrated that he has the experience, values and commitment to continue delivering exceptional healthcare services to our patients and to lead NMC Healthcare – Aspen to even more success.’

This news follows the appointment of Paul Hetherington as interim CEO in January after Des Shiels stepped down from the position he had held for 12 years.
