Benenden Health has reported record levels of demand for diagnostic services, marking what it described as a shift in the healthcare needs of its 875,000 members.
The mutual health cover provider said 68,912 diagnostics services were accessed by its members in 2025, reflecting the continued importance of preventative and early-intervention services.
In addition, it reported 64,860 24/7 GP appointments, 7,549 calls to its 24/7 Mental Health Helpline and 30,547 physiotherapy appointments.
The not-for-profit has introduced new services in recent years to meet the shifts in demand and focus on holistic wellbeing. It said there had been 1,311 interactions with its Neurodiversity and Care Support Service in 2025. During the year, it also expanded its app-based skin cancer detector, eye health check and the ‘My Expert Health Coach’ service, where members can access 30-minute appointments with trained clinicians on topics including mental health, menopause, gut health, sleep and weight management.
