Doctor Care Anywhere partners will HelloSelf

Digital primary care provider Doctor Care Anywhere has partnered with HelloSelf to enable its clinicians to refer patients directly into a personalised mental health support service.

Under the deal, Doctor Care Anywhere clinicians will be able to refer patients to HelloSelf following clinical assessment, providing access to a range of therapy, coaching and AI-supported care options.

HelloSelf’s model is based on personalised care plans, known as SelfPlans, which are designed using individual need, clinical oversight and outcome data. Patients are guided into one of four care pathways: weekly therapy, monthly therapy, neurodiversity coaching, or AI-led support via the HelloSelf Companion.

The HelloSelf Companion, an AI tool designed to offer day-to-day psychological support, can be used alongside therapist-led care, between sessions, or following the conclusion of formal treatment. HelloSelf said the tool is intended to support step-down care and relapse prevention, as well as patients whose needs may not meet the threshold for regular therapy.

Patients referred through Doctor Care Anywhere are matched with dedicated therapists who oversee their care plan, with clinicians retaining oversight of treatment intensity and progression.

Charles Wells, CEO of HelloSelf, said the partnership marked the first time GP patients could be referred directly into what he described as a personalised psychology pathway.

Anushka Mehrotra, chief medical officer at Doctor Care Anywhere, said: ‘Mental health is a critical part of overall wellbeing, and we know that timely, personalised support can make a real difference. Our partnership with HelloSelf means Doctor Care Anywhere patients will have seamless access to clinically guided pathways that combine human expertise with innovative AI tools. This is an important step in delivering joined-up care that helps people feel better sooner and stay well for longer.’

The two organisations said they plan to work together on further developments, including exploring the use of behavioural health prescriptions alongside mental health and GP services.
