Greece: encouraging medical tourism investment

State investment agency, Enterprise Greece, says that the Greek economy is now performing well and the country is witnessing an investment boom. The Greek government actively supports investors with financing and tax incentives and is particularly keen to develop Greek tourism, including health and medical tourism.

Greece’s economy relies heavily on tourism and now that travel is coming back, so are opportunities for investors.

The country offers opportunities in tourism ranging from luxury resort development to specialised tourism products including wellness.

Greece is working to expand its tourist season and the appeal of non-traditional destinations through various initiatives, including health tourism and medical tourism.

Enterprise Greece seeks tourism investments including:

  • Thematic wellness tourism used to add value and to extend the typical sun and beach holidays.
  • Medical tourism, through leveraging the existing skilled Greek medical personnel, combined with investments in existing facilities and infrastructure.
