A private hospital aims to bolster Bahrain’s hope of being a medical tourism destination in the region by flying in experts for specialist treatments.
The International Visiting Professor Programme is a partnership between Al Salam Specialist Hospital and a network of medical institutions in Germany, Health Cologne.
The hospital hopes the partnership will bring experts from Germany to Bahrain a regular basis to treat local and international patients. The aim is to boost medical tourism to Bahrain, through the participation and sharing of clinical knowledge and expertise between the two countries.
For patients in Bahrain who may benefit from treatment in Germany, for example medical cases that are both challenging and rare, the hospital will remove additional third party administrative costs by referring direct.
Training, education and exchange of medical staff in collaboration is expected enhance the abilities of the medical team at Al Salam Specialist Hospital.
