As part of a new national policy of self-sufficiency, China is building specialist hospitals. Will this mean nationals no longer have to go overseas for treatment?
In partnership with VeChain and DNV, Renji Hospital , a top hospital in China affiliated with the Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine , has launched of the world’s first blockchain-enabled Intelligent Tumour Treatment Centre powered by VeChain ToolChain.
As strategic partners of this new initiative, VeChain and DNV GL will jointly support the hospital in the quest to improve global public health through state-of-the-art blockchain technology.
The Intelligent Tumour Treatment Centre combines the advantages of VeChain blockchain technology with DNV GL’s professional services. It enables full patient ownership of personal medical records, allowing patients to take control of the authorisation and medical records data management. Research institutions inside and outside the hospital can use data to improve the efficiency of clinical research, and regulatory agencies can use data to conduct business compliance checks on medical institutions and establish a credit evaluation system.
In line with the Chinese Government’s 14th Five-Year (2021-2025) Plan for Economic and Social Development, the National Health Commission formulated an official guideline on blockchain technology as an essential innovation and integration of the medical and health industry.
The Chinese are beginning to travel abroad again but China has warned against travelling to certain counties and banned travel from those countries, even for foreign residents who live in China.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, China has decided to temporarily suspend the entry into China by foreign nationals in India holding valid Chinese visas or residence permits. The Chinese Embassy and Consulates in India will not stamp the Health Declaration Forms for the holders of these categories of visa or residence permits. Similar announcements were made for the UK, Belgium and the Philippines.
China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the ban is a temporary measure for all the countries.
