Dental tourism builds in Albania

Inbound dental tourism is gaining attention in Albania.  It is also being promoted by Invest in Albania, an independent, non-governmental body.

Albania is the lowest cost country in the Balkans for healthcare, so would seem a strong candidate for expanding medical tourism.

Dental tourism is gaining attention because other well-established dental tourism destinations in the region, such as Croatia, have started charging higher rates. The many Albanians living abroad make up a considerable share of those returning to Albania for dental procedures.

Word of mouth and professional dental tourism providers are building attention in this sector, which is targeting international patients in the EU, especially Italy and the UK. English and Italian are commonly spoken in Albanian dental clinics.
