Dr. Ahmed Ibrahim Bin Kalban of the DHA: “The DHA understands the value and importance of medical quality management and international healthcare accreditations to achieve and maintain excellence in healthcare. A majority of our facilities have been accredited and reaccredited. From now until end of 2018, we are working on seeking certain accreditations/certifications for all our health facilities.”

DHA is pursuing Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation for ambulatory care standards in Dubai Diabetes Centre and network accreditation for ten medical fitness services centres in the first half of 2018.

Dubai Hospital will pursue advanced JCI clinical care programme certification for management of acute myocardial infarction), chronic kidney disease and end-stage renal failure. Latifa Hospital will work at management of neonatal hypoglycemia in the immediate neonatal period (within 48 hours of birth). Hatta Hospital will engage in management of hypertension. Rashid Hospital will renew JCI certification for management of AMI.

DHA will also implement the American Heart Association get with the guidelines hospital quality improvement programme for care of heart failure patients in Dubai Hospital, Rashid Hospital and Hatta Hospital.

DHA is also pursuing certification for integrated management system as part of extension audit and certification for ISO 22301:2012 (business continuity management system).

Over 80% of hospitals in Dubai are internationally accredited. For DHA health facilities, all 11 DHA primary healthcare centres have international accreditation.
