Georgia’s tourist strategy will help medical travel

“Georgia – a safe destination” is now the message that the Georgian government is promoting. This chimes well with new plans to promote medical tourism and health tourism to the country. Georgian clinic, Dream Dental & Aesthetic Group, is one healthcare company seizing the opportunity.

Dream Dental and Aesthetic Group plans to roll out its dental tourism development plans this year and offer high-end dental services to local residents and foreigners. Europe and the Middle East is the target for dental tourism.

The group offers a package of dental care plus meeting at the airport, booking/accommodation at the hotel and other services the client requires.

Dream Dental and Aesthetic Group has an offer for domestic customers as well, including special discounts for socially vulnerable people such as retirees, war veterans, the military, their family members, students and teachers. The clinic also plans to introduce instalment payment plans.

Dream Dental offers dentistry, allergy tests, laser hair removal, cosmetology, manicure, pedicure, and massage. The clinic had 8,400 patients in 2019.The average age of Georgian patients is 25-40 years of age, while for foreign patients it is 45-55.

The clinic has treated patients from many countries including from the USA, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Greece, Eastern European countries, Japan, Korea, China, Australia, South and Central American countries, and Arab states.

As of 31 July, only five EU nations are allowed to visit Georgia, restriction free which are:

  • Estonia
  • France
  • Germany
  • Latvia
  • Lithuania

There is a secondary list of countries that can visit Georgia, but with a mandatory 14-day quarantine. This only applies to any EU nation that has included Georgia on its third-party safe list, and is also granting Georgians entry. These are Croatia, Cyprus, Georgia, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.

Entry from the UK and USA are excluded.
