The GP Hero service will be offered to customers with a minimum size of just three employees and will enable employers to expand online GP access across their workforce. Employees can choose between a male and female GP, phone or video appointment, and can access a translation service covering over 200 languages. The service also includes private prescriptions and open referral letters for symptoms that require further investigation or treatment.
The move is part of a wider initiative to facilitate remote clinical services for Towergate Health & Protection clients.
Last summer, it launched an employee assistance programme providing video counselling services and in November 2020 it entered into an agreement with Ascenti to offer remote physiotherapy.
Towergate Health & Protection distribution director Brett Hill said: ‘We are really excited by this new service. It means that companies of all sizes will be able to offer online GP access to all employees. This is a highly valuable and valued employee benefit, which will bring tangible positive support in these unprecedented difficult times.’
Health Hero, formerly Medical Solutions, has expanded rapidly over the past year, developing partnerships with a number of PMI providers and brokers, including Cirencester Friendly, General & Medical, Medicash, PG Mutual, Freedom Health Insurance, National Friendly and WPA.
