Apposite invests in children’s care provider

Clearbridge Health raises S$11 million

Apposite Capital has bought specialist care provider Courtyard Care through its portfolio company Swanton Care for an undisclosed sum.

The private equity firm’s venture comes hot on the heels of the investment it made in dental care group Riverdale Healthcare two weeks ago.

Courtyard Care, in Denton, Manchester, has been running children’s residential homes with capacity for up to 20 users since 2003.

Swanton Care, which Apposite bought in 2017, provides residential and supported living services for adults in East Anglia, West Midlands, southwest Wales, the North East and Scotland.

Anne-Laure Meynier, Apposite investment director, said: ‘As a well-established business in the North West, Courtyard Care will be well placed to further develop in that region and also to work within the Swanton Group to develop new locations for specialist children’s services.

‘Swanton and Apposite are focused on developing linked care pathways. Courtyard Care fits very well with this strategy by extending services beyond the current adult [learning difficult] and [mental health] services in both residential and supported living.’

She said the operators would be looking to expand in new and existing locations.
