Ticadoc and Sheraton help expand Malaysia medical tourism

Medical, wellness and mobility restricted and disabled traveller resources provider Ticadoc and Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur Hotel are working together to expand Malaysian health tourism.

Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council aims to make Malaysia the leading global medical tourism destination by 2020.

To achieve this goal, MHTC has identified key initiatives that include positioning Malaysia as the hub for cardiology and fertility in Asia, as these two areas are seen as ones where Malaysia is very strong.

Medical, wellness and mobility restricted and disabled traveller resources provider Ticadoc and Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur Hotel are working together to expand Malaysian health tourism.

Ticadoc has also named the five-star Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur Hotel as the first certified Medi-Secure-Safe Hotel in Malaysia.

The hotel has also launched its Healthcation programme, a joint effort with Prince Court Medical Centre (PCMC). In a one-night stay, guests get health screening at PCMC plus discounts on spa treatment and local eateries.

To be certified, hotels have to go through a series of audits, internally and externally, with a comprehensive list of strict safety and secure compliance to fulfil.

Ticadoc is a Singapore based website offering information and booking at global clinics, hospitals, hotels, airlines and other services.

The Medi- Secure- Safe system is a new certification from Ticadoc that applies to hotels. The aim is that travellers can be certain that the hotel is suitable for medical travellers. 22 Asian hotels are now certified, and the company wants to expand the certification to airlines, hospitals and clinics.
