Kiev Heart Center achieves UK’s QHA Trent accreditation

The Kiev Heart Center, a leading cardiology hospital in Kiev has achieved QHA Trent accreditation.

QHA Trent is an independent UK based company that delivers external and impartial verification of the standard of services within international healthcare facilities. It seeks to establish whether these establishments are genuinely safe and fit for purpose.

QHA uses UK based standards and medical and other professional expertise to assist and engage with organisations worldwide who are seeking a mark of approval of the standard of work carried out in the services, and as a way of further improving their services on a continuous basis.

The standards cover all aspects of the hospital’s services ensuring that policies and procedures are in place and that practice follows these; that staff are trained fully; audit is undertaken; that infection control is rigorous and that health and safety and risk management is robust.

It is believed to be the first hospital in former Soviet Union countries to achieve international healthcare accreditation.

This state of the art hospital in Kiev in Ukraine is dedicated to treating heart diseases and heart conditions. The operation theatres are well equipped for performing cardiac bypass surgery and other complex cardiac surgical procedures. The recovery rooms are comfortable and airy with modern en suite amenities for the optimum comfort of patients including overseas patients.

Although targeting patients from the USA, UK and Europe- in 2014 the hospital only had 143 international patients. The hope is that international accreditation will help it increase numbers.
