Orapa Mine Hospital in Botswana has achieved international COHSASA accreditation for the fourth year in a row, this year with a 99% score.

The hospital serves patients from the Debswana Orapa, Letlhakane and Damtshaa Mines (OLDM) and surrounding areas. It is only one of two COHSASA accredited health facilities in the country. COHSASA is the only internationally accredited quality improvement and accreditation body for healthcare facilities based in Africa.

The accreditation means that standards are well maintained especially in high risk areas such as quality improvement programmes, documentation controls, health records, health and safety programmes, the staff appraisal plan, the strategic management plan, negative incidents, patient complaints and resuscitation.
